“Do you wonder, as you watch my face? If a wiser one, could have had my place?”
Mary - An image of God birthing the very face and presence of God for all. Is it likely she pondered if a better equipped version of herself or someone else entirely would be more fitting for the immaculate calling upon her life?
Consider this your personal Mother's Day bouquet delivery from our hive to yours! We wish we could deliver flowers to each and every mama on our reader's list and then some, and maybe one day we can, but until then, this is our most genuine second best.
Pssst, hey Papa’s and kiddos, this post is for you! It’s very likely that many of us are going to be home for Mother’s Day brunch this year due to quarantine, which is usually my top choice anyway (being home, not quarantine, just to be clear.)
Friends, I have a bit of a confession to make, if we can call it that. It’s nothing to be ashamed of or particularly hush-hush over. It is simply something I haven’t talked about beyond personal conversation when the topic arises, and it’s been a thing for several years.
I once read, to view a rainbow there must be 3 things present: rain, sunshine, and YOU. I cannot help but smile; it’s true. To see a rainbow you must be present. Otherwise, who sees and knows of its existence? The answer to this is actually what gives me pause, peace, and true courage when pondering the meaning and semblance of such an arc on display. Through the eye of the beholder, light refracted or separated through the very waters that once signified death and destruction, joins in a dance with life, positioned at a perfect angle for an epic performance, and a rainbow, in an orchestral burst of joy and beauty, becomes a banner of glory for all to see - including the one who made it.
I can't help but look back on previous Easter photos and allow myself a tear or two. If I begin watching videos I basically begin a flood, as it is true- the days are long, but the years are short when it comes to raising little people who turn into big people.
It’s that time of year and we put together a list of some old favorites and new finds. Below you’ll find gift ideas for her, him, them, the littles and anyone with a heartbeat. (No offense to those who don’t have a heartbeat. You guys are just REALLY hard to shop for.) We love to laude our local peeps, but don’t worry we’ve also included some great gifts and makers from around the interwebs and even some amazon picks for that last minute prime shipping!
Our HIVEhomemade Thanksgiving Full Menu Recipe Collage (Check it out here!) was such a hit that we have decided to gather another round-up to tempt, but not ruin your sweet tooth.
The fall chill is upon us, but warm up your taste buds, because we have a Paleo fall recipe line up just in time for your Thanksgiving spread. It is sure to give you all the feels (other than anxiety) as we have gladly done the work for you, and it is good, folks (Pecan pie with bacon crust good, people. I repeat - in a wide-eyed whisper - bacon pecan pie.)
Sweet gatherings with little hands + hearts on an occasion set aside for focusing on the love of one another is something I can assuredly appreciate. In fact, I love it, because life is sweet and those we love are worth celebrating - on more than one occasion.
This is our take on the traditional gingerbread house without the sugar mess or - er, gingerbread. Gingerbread I may miss a bit, but the sugar mess I do not.
